Job summary

Yale New Haven Health is seeking a Pharmacy Specialist to plan and implement strategies that improve access, efficiency, and safety of drug use across our hospitals in Connecticut. You will develop formulary policies and guide clinical teams to optimize therapy and reduce waste.

Responsibilities include leading educational initiatives, mentoring pharmacy staff, and partnering with clinic leadership to address operational challenges while maintaining high reliability and patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited College of Pharmacy with a B.S., M.S., or Pharm. D. degree; completion of a hospital pharmacy residency is highly desired but not required.
• Minimum of three years of experience in a clinical practice setting with demonstrated skills in formulary/access evaluation, drug information, and project management.
• Active Connecticut Pharmacist License; strong knowledge of quality improvement techniques.

Responsibilities

• Enhance clinical quality and safety of medication use; develop and implement drug use policies.
• Manage pharmaceutical expense for target therapies and report progress to leadership.
• Mentor and develop pharmacy staff; provide performance feedback.
• Serve as a clinical and operational resource to assigned areas; address operational problems.
• Develop educational initiatives to identify staff needs and improve practice.
