Job summary

YRCI in Washington, DC is seeking a Personnel Security Specialist to manage personnel security case processing from initiation to completion for non-sensitive and public trust positions. You will review documentation, initiate investigations, monitor actions, and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years of federal personnel security experience, demonstrates sound judgment, and can operate with limited supervision.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of personnel security experience within a federal environment.
• Ability to process personnel security cases with limited supervision.
• Proven experience applying established personnel security procedures to routine and moderately complex cases.
• Experience exercising sound judgment within defined authorities and escalating issues appropriately to government personnel.

Responsibilities

• Manage cases from initiation through completion while maintaining quality and timeliness.
• Provide informal guidance to junior personnel on established procedures (no supervisory authority unless authorized).
• Conduct initial reviews of investigative information, identify relevant details, and prepare factual summaries or recommendations for government review.
• Understand that final adjudicative decisions remain with government officials.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders during case processing.
