Responsibilities

• Selects necessary supplies and assembles perfusion equipment for procedures.
• Completes perfusion records and supports patient-specific decisions.
• Maintains knowledge of CPB equipment, anatomy, physiology, physics and mechanics.
• Communicates with attending surgeon during procedures.
• Adjusts therapy in response to changing patient conditions and documents perfusion activities.
• Operates and troubleshoots CPB equipment, VAD, IABP, ECMO and related devices.
• Oversees equipment cleaning and inventory within the perfusion service.
