Job summary

IntelliBee is seeking a Senior Performance Test Engineer to lead performance testing for Sacramento-based web applications and APIs. You will design, execute, and optimize load, stress, and endurance tests using JMeter, build realistic workload models, and validate results against defined SLAs.

The role requires hands-on testing, deep analysis of performance metrics, and collaboration with DevOps, architecture, and database teams to drive performance improvements and ensure reliability.

Qualifications

• Experience in identifying performance bottlenecks and conducting root-cause analysis.

Responsibilities

• Strong hands-on experience with Apache JMeter for performance, load, and stress testing.
• Develop, parameterize, and maintain performance test scripts for web applications and APIs.
• Develop realistic workload models using transaction volumes, throughput, concurrency, pacing, and peak-load patterns.
• Execute load, stress, scalability, concurrency, and long-duration endurance testing (12 hours minimum).
• Analyze performance data: response times, percentiles, throughput, error rates, and resource usage.
• Identify bottlenecks, perform root-cause analysis, support tuning and retesting.
• Test integrated systems and interfaces under concurrent and peak workloads.
• Validate results against SLAs and acceptance criteria.
• Document test scenarios, results, defects, and supporting evidence.
• Collaborate with development, architecture, DevOps, database, infrastructure, and interface teams.

Senior Performance Test Engineer

Required Skills:

JMeter, workload modeling, hands-on test execution, bottleneck analysis, API/web performance testing, and performance metrics analysis.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with AWS CloudWatch, API Gateway, ECS, RDS/SQL Server, Git, and CI/CD pipelines is preferred

Responsibilities:

• Strong hands-on experience with Apache JMeter for performance, load, and stress testing.
• Experience developing, parameterizing, correlating, and maintaining performance test scripts for web applications and APIs.
• Ability to develop realistic workload models using transaction volumes, throughput, concurrency, pacing, and peak-load patterns.
• Hands-on experience executing load, stress, scalability, concurrency, and long-duration endurance testing. ICMS specifically requires sustained peak-load endurance testing of at least 12 hours.
• Strong performance analysis skills covering response times and percentiles, throughput, error rates, concurrent users, CPU, memory, database connections, waits/locks, and network/application latency.
• Experience identifying performance bottlenecks, performing root-cause analysis, supporting tuning, and conducting performance retesting.
• Experience testing integrated systems and interfaces under concurrent and peak workloads.
• Ability to validate performance results against defined SLAs, performance targets, and acceptance criteria.
• Experience documenting test scenarios, execution results, performance defects, supporting evidence, and test results.
• Strong troubleshooting and collaboration skills to work with development, architecture, DevOps, database, infrastructure, and interface teams.
