The Options Clearing Corporation (OCC) is seeking an Associate Principal in Performance Testing to design and execute comprehensive performance and failover testing strategies across mission-critical clearing, risk, and settlement systems. You will combine hands-on performance engineering to ensure systems meet regulatory RTO/RPO requirements across multi-region environments.

Qualifications

• 7+ years hands-on performance testing and engineering.
• 5+ years designing and executing failover/DR testing across multi-region architectures.
• Expertise in LoadRunner, JMeter, Gatling; evaluate tool trade-offs.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, JavaScript for test frameworks.
• Hands-on AWS (EC2, RDS, Kafka) and performance monitoring.
• Kubernetes and containerized testing (Docker, Kafka).
• UC4/Automic scheduling in test execution.
• SQL skills for performance analysis (SQL Server, Oracle, DB2).
• CI/CD pipelines integration for performance tests (Jenkins, GitHub, GitLab).
• APM/observability correlation (Splunk, Dynatrace, AppDynamics).
• Linux command-line proficiency.
• Jira/Zephyr/SpiraTest experience.
• Finance domain or regulated, low-latency systems experience.
• Multi-region testing across primary/secondary/tertiary regions.

Responsibilities

• Define test plans, load profiles, and ramp scenarios for high-volume systems.
• Execute tests with LoadRunner, JMeter, and Gatling; analyze results.
• Lead DR testing across regions.
• Develop performance test automation using Python and Java.
• Create CI/CD pipelines for continuous perf validation.
• Implement regression testing to catch performance degradation.
• Validate behavior across multi-region deployments and RTO/RPO targets.
• Design failover scenarios and verify data integrity during failover.
• Collaborate on capacity planning with infra and dev teams.
• Document methodologies, baselines, and trend analysis.
• Mentor QE engineers on perf and failover testing.
