Job summary

KellyMitchell Group is seeking an Automation Engineer to join our team in Irving, Texas. The role focuses on designing and executing performance, load, and resilience tests to ensure system scalability and reliability.

You'll analyze results, collaborate with DevOps and engineering to optimize code, databases, and infrastructure, and help define SLI/SLOs for production readiness in a cloud-native, microservices environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of performance engineering, automation engineering, or SRE experience.
• 3+ years of Java development with Spring Boot.
• Hands-on Docker/containerization experience.
• Strong scripting skills in Python and/or Bash.
• Experience with observability and APM tools (Splunk, ELK, AppDynamics, Datadog, New Relic).
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and microservices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute performance, load, stress, and scalability tests.
• Identify bottlenecks across application, database, and infrastructure layers and provide optimization recommendations.
• Analyze test results and produce data-driven performance reports for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with DevOps and engineering teams to optimize code, queries, APIs, and configs.
• Define performance SLIs/SLOs and alerting thresholds; support production readiness.
