Job summary

Atem Corp in Plano, TX is seeking a Senior Performance Engineer to ensure the enterprise application can handle production traffic before go-live. The role requires hands-on experience with JMeter, Kubernetes/OpenShift, Prometheus/Grafana, SQL/PostgreSQL, and robust load/endurance testing.

Qualifications

Minimum of seven years of experience in performance engineering or performance testing of enterprise web applications.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and communicate findings to leadership.
Experience in capacity planning for on-premises infrastructure and forecasting future capacity needs.
Hands-on scripting in load testing tools (e.g., JMeter and at least one other such as Artillery, k6, Gatling, Locust).
Experience in UI performance testing using Playwright or similar tooling.

Responsibilities

Establish, measure and maintain performance baselines for each release across API, service and UI scenarios.
Develop workload models from production traffic data and stakeholder input.
Design, develop and maintain performance test scripts using JMeter, Artillery and Playwright.
Execute load and endurance tests throughout each release cycle in a dedicated performance environment.
Analyze test results, identify regressions, and determine root causes using platform, database and application metrics.
Partner with developers and platform engineers to resolve performance issues and optimize queries and configurations.
Prepare performance reports and present findings to support release approval.
