Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Senior Performance Engineer with a strong foundation in Java-based applications. This role is based in New York Downtown (Manhattan) and requires local candidates. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement, with two days onsite (Tuesday and Wednesday).

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with development teams to analyze, design, and execute performance tests for Java-based applications.
• Create and maintain comprehensive Non-Functional Test Strategy, Test Plans, Test Scenarios, and Test Scripts.
• Utilize Performance Testing tools, including Load Runner and JMeter, to evaluate system performance.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks through in-depth analysis using tools like JProfiler, JVisualVM, and Oracle JFR.
• Conduct various forms of Performance Testing, including Load, Stress, Volume, Resilient, and Endurance Testing.
• Design Workload Models (WLM) to simulate real-world usage scenarios for Performance Testing Projects.
• Perform JVM Analysis, including Heap and Thread dump analysis, Garbage Collection, and Stack Memory analysis.
• Validate Web Services (SOAP and REST) APIs using tools like Postman, Newman, and SOAP UI.
• Execute Performance Testing for Android and iOS Mobile applications.
• Demonstrate proficiency with server technologies such as Tomcat, IIS, Apache, and IBM WAS.
• Convert Load Runner and Neoload scripts to JMeter for enhanced performance testing.
• Utilize Dynatrace APM for monitoring CPU, Memory, and Threads on application and web servers, facilitating bottleneck analysis.
• Create performance metric dashboards and usage patterns using NewRelic.
• Conduct Backend Database Testing, including writing SQL Queries using MS SQL Developer.
• Exhibit strong knowledge of primary AWS services, including Lambda, SQS, EC2, ELB, RDS, S3, Dynamo DB, and CloudWatch.
• Engage in Performance Testing of critical business applications, covering areas such as Mortgage, Commercial Lending, Retail Banking, Credit cards, Auto Retail Financing, Trading-Advisory Services, and Point of Sale (POS).
  
  

Qualifications

• A minimum of 12 years of experience in Performance Engineering and Java-based application testing.
• Strong expertise in Performance Testing tools, including JMeter, LoadRunner, and Non-Functional Testing strategies.
• Proficiency in Java programming, debugging, and profiling.
• Familiarity with various performance monitoring and profiling tools.
• Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork capabilities.
• The ability to work independently and within collaborative teams.
• Knowledge of agile development methodologies is advantageous.
