Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for a Senior Performance Engineer for a full-time remote position (40 hours per week) in India with a willingness to work from the office in Pune 5 times a week.

Our client is a cloud platform for business spend management (BSM) that helps organizations manage their spending, procurement, invoicing, expenses, and supplier relationships. They provide a unified, cloud-based spend management platform that connects hundreds of organizations representing the Americas, EMEA, and APAC with millions of suppliers globally.

The platform provides greater visibility into and control over how companies spend money. Small, medium, and large customers have used the platform to bring billions of dollars in cumulative spending under management.

The company offers a comprehensive platform that helps organizations manage their spending, procurement, invoicing, expenses, and supplier relationships. Founded in 2006 and headquartered in San Mateo, California, they aim to streamline and optimize business processes, driving efficiency and cost savings.

Requirements:
  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • The last 5+ years should be in performance testing and engineering without involvement in other areas or interruptions.
  • Domain expert on public cloud, distributed systems, micro services architecture and capacity planning.
  • Knowledge of AWS.
  • Knowledge of a programming language in order to write and execute performance testing (pref. Scala).
  • Experienced in Performance engineering design, implementing, and automating benchmarks.
  • Proven experience in performance, scalability analysis and optimizations (DB query optimization is a must).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of systems software and understanding of the impact of locking, caching and I/O on software performance.
  • Proven Performance tuning experience for infrastructure, platforms, and applications.
  • Proven track record in bringing clarity to ambiguous situations. Ability to facilitate and arbitrate technical discussions, and to make challenging calls or recommendations; Work well in a distributed team environment.
  • Proven experience in issue analysis is a must.
Nice to have:
  • Experience with Ruby.
Responsibilities:
  • Establish performance benchmarks for the Coupa platform.
  • Design, implement and maintain a performance certification test harness.
  • Contribute performance optimizations and refactoring on the entire stack of the Coupa platform.
  • Be an evangelist for performance best practices and tools.
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Development Engineering, and Cloud Infrastructure teams to find the optimal way to scale applications and the infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot complex configuration, infrastructure, networking, and application problems that could impact the performance or capacity of the product.
  • Proactive end-to-end cluster scalability, performance, and exception analysis.
  • Analyze root cause for latency in individual components and across the system.
  • Continually look for opportunities to improve our platform, process, and business.
