Job summary

The City of Portland seeks a Senior Performance Auditor to join the Auditor’s Office. You will lead complex audits of City programs, develop scope and plans, and ensure work aligns with government auditing standards. This role offers a hybrid work arrangement, with half-time in-person duties at City Hall.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, public policy or related field.
• Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in financial management, operations, government or public-sector auditing.

Responsibilities

• Leading project teams in performing a variety of complex and sensitive audits; monitor and evaluate work; prepare audit scope, objectives, and plan.
• Conduct administrative, operational, financial, and management studies and audits; identify opportunities to improve efficiency, effectiveness and equity.
• Draft and finalize audit reports; ensure clarity, accuracy and alignment with standards.
• Perform quality reviews of audit findings and recommendations for internal consistency and accuracy.
