Job summary

Apple Inc. in Cupertino, CA seeks a Senior Software Architect for the perception stack to design the runtime, dataflow, and system infrastructure that turn perception and ML algorithms into fast, reliable device experiences.

You will set technical direction, partner with hardware, software, and product teams, and mentor engineers to ship latency-sensitive software at scale while protecting privacy and security across the stack.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years building production systems software in C/C++, Swift with concurrency, scheduling, memory management, IPC.
• Experience shipping latency-sensitive or real-time systems to customers.
• Experience designing dataflow or algorithm-graph runtimes across heterogeneous compute.
• Telemetry, tracing, and profiling into systems.
• Security-aware architecture and secure execution environments.

Responsibilities

• DRI for end-to-end software architecture of the perception stack.
• Design and build a real-time, graph-based dataflow runtime across heterogeneous compute.
• Define system foundations: sensor sync, calibration, IPC, data logging.
• Ensure privacy and security in architecture and secure enclaves.
• Partner with perception and ML engineers to productionize models on device.
• Build telemetry, tracing, profiling and record/replay into the stack from day one.
• Drive cross-functional alignment with hardware, software and platform teams.
• Break roadmap into milestones with program managers and adapt to changes.
• Set engineering standards via design reviews and communicate tradeoffs.
