Job summary

Teradyne in North Reading, MA seeks an experienced software engineer to design and extend software for a large test system. The role emphasizes C# .NET on Windows, distributed and multi-threaded architectures, and AI-assisted code generation, with emphasis on machine vision and optics knowledge.

Work will involve collaborating with global design teams, and on-site presence is expected with moderate US and SE Asia travel.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of software development experience programming in C# .NET on Windows using Visual Studio.
• Solid experience developing distributed and multi-threaded applications.
• Solid understanding of object-oriented design.
• Ability to work with AI-based code generators.
• Experience in Machine vision and knowledge of optics, lenses, and CV.

• General knowledge of geometrical optics
• Experience of lenses and lens selection
• Knowledge of computer vision and image processing
• Experience of commercial vision software products is a strong plus
• Knowledge of linear algebra is a strong plus
• Background in semiconductors and/or test equipment industry is a plus.
• Experience in any of the following is a plus: WPF, capital equipment, factory integration, TCP/IP, database programming,
• Ability to work effectively on multiple tasks with multiple deadlines.
• Ability to solve problems through creative and analytical thinking.
• Ability to work with the local team and a design team overseas.
• Ability to grasp new technologies and react to changes in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation:

The base salary range for this role is $161,700 - $258,800. This range is a good faith estimate, and the amount of base salary will correspond with experience and skill set. This range can also fluctuate depending on demand and location.

Incentive Plan:

This job is eligible for discretionary bonus(es) based on financial performance.
