Job summary

Teradyne seeks an experienced software engineer to design and extend software for a large test system, collaborating with cross-functional teams to solve complex problems. The role emphasizes robotics software, distributed systems, and multi-threaded applications, with on-site work in North Reading, MA and travel to Asia.

Minimum 5-8 years of experience in C++, C#, Python and strong OO design skills are required.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of software development experience in C++, C#, Python.
• Experience with distributed and multi-threaded applications.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented design.
• Robotics Software experience required, incl. robotic systems, 6-DOF arm, and safety standards.
• Background in semiconductors or test equipment is a plus; familiarity with WPF, TCP/IP, or database programming is a plus.

• Minimum 5-8 years of software development experience programming in C++, C#, Python, or similar languages.
• Solid experience developing distributed and multi-threaded applications.
• Solid understanding of object-oriented design.
• Experience in Robotics Software is a must, including
• General knowledge of robotic systems and controls
• Experience with 6-degree-of-freedom robot arm control
• Ability to work with multiple different robotic solution APIs
• Experience with safety field design, including safety-rated sensors, light curtains, e-stop circuits, and relevant safety standards (e.g., ISO 10218, ANSI/RIA R15.06)
• Experience with sequencing and process control logic
• Experience with Machine Vision is a strong plus
• Knowledge of kinematics and control theory is a strong plus
• Background in semiconductors and/or test equipment industry is a plus.
• Experience in any of the following is a plus: WPF, capital equipment, factory integration, TCP/IP, database programming.
• Ability to work with AI-based code generators.
• Ability to work effectively on multiple tasks with multiple deadlines.
• Ability to solve problems through creative and analytical thinking.
• Ability to work with the local team and a design team overseas.
• Ability to grasp new technologies and react to changes in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation

The base salary range for this role is $129,600 - $207,400. This range is a good faith estimate, and the amount of base salary will correspond with experience and skill set. This range can also fluctuate depending on demand and location.

Incentive Plan

This job is eligible for discretionary bonus(es) based on financial performance.
