Job summary

GrayMatter Robotics Inc. in Los Angeles, CA, seeks a Senior Robotics Engineer: Perception to join onsite work with production robotics and perception algorithms.

You will develop and optimize perception pipelines for high-DOF systems, integrate multi-sensor data, and enable real-time 3D geometry processing in manufacturing contexts. Responsibilities include building robust perception architectures, exploring new ML/DL approaches, and collaborating with hardware teams.

Qualifications

• Master's in Robotics, Computer Science or similar discipline.
• 2+ years of industry experience developing algorithms for planning, learning, perception, and control.
• Proficiency in C++ and Python production coding.
• Experience with 3D geometry, point clouds, ICP and segmentation.
• Ability to fuse multi-view sensor data into a unified representation.
• Hands-on with hardware vision sensors and camera integration.
• Knowledge of ML/DL for image and point cloud processing.

Responsibilities

• Develop algorithms and architecture for high-DOF robotic systems in manufacturing.
• Configure and troubleshoot low-latency interfaces for sensor data.
• Develop computer vision and perception algorithms for 3D geometry and inspection.
• Design active perception pipelines including exploration and viewpoint planning.
• Produce production-ready software with GPU acceleration.
• Stay current with robotics/AI research and apply findings.
• Provide technical assistance to internal and customer teams on-site.
• Allocate time to assist application teams for POCs, FATs, deployments.
• Travel to client locations for on-site system debugging.
