Job summary

Neros Technologies in the United States is seeking a Perception Lead to own the perception stack across unmanned aircraft. You will guide the transition from classical computer vision to learned models, while ensuring detection and tracking performance under degraded conditions.

You will lead a small team, hire and mentor engineers, and deliver end-to-end perception software deployed on constrained onboard compute, balancing accuracy and latency for real-time operation.

Qualifications

• 6+ years producing production computer vision or perception software
• 2+ years leading a team or technical program as a tech lead or engineering manager
• Experience deploying perception software to physical systems in outdoor environments
• Proficiency in C++ and Python for real-time or resource-constrained contexts
• Experience deploying neural networks to embedded accelerators (Jetson/TensorRT, Qualcomm, Hailo)
• Knowledge of EO/IR imaging, camera calibration, and sensor characteristics

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture, roadmap, and delivery of the perception stack across all vehicle platforms
• Lead and grow the perception engineering team through hiring and mentorship
• Deliver detection, recognition, and image-space tracking that maintains target lock under occlusion or degraded links
• Define the perception output contract and operating points with state estimation teams
• Drive the shift from classical CV to learned detection with regression testing and deterministic fallbacks
• Deploy perception software to onboard compute with latency and hardware optimization constraints
