Job summary

Shakepay is looking for a Senior People Operations Partner to elevate how People work across the employee lifecycle in a fast-growing fintech environment in Canada. You will drive improvements to onboarding, offboarding, data management, benefits administration, and People systems while shaping scalable processes.

You’ll design workflows, lead initiatives around performance and compensation cycles, and collaborate with Finance, Legal, Security, and Talent to optimize programs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive experience in People Operations or related role.
• Experience working independently across multiple People workstreams in a fast-paced environment.
• Hands-on experience supporting employee lifecycle and People systems.
• Experience contributing to performance management, compensation, onboarding, offboarding, policy work, or manager enablement.
• Working knowledge of Canadian employment practices and prudent legal judgment.

Responsibilities

• Take day-to-day ownership of core People processes across the lifecycle: onboarding, offboarding, leaves, benefits, employee data, documentation, and People systems.
• Design and document reliable workflows, handoffs, and resources for easy navigation and maintenance.
• Support operational delivery of key People programs, including performance and compensation cycles.
• Bring clear recommendations and next steps when path forward isn’t obvious.
• Use data and feedback to identify risks and opportunities for simplification and automation.
• Partner with Finance, Legal, Security, Talent, and external vendors on People-related work.
• Create documentation and repeatable processes to strengthen continuity across the function.
