YOUR MISSION
This role will be central to our People Operations team — day to day benefits and leave administration, managing our HRIS platform, and helping us scale with precision. You’ll ensure that our people systems and data are tightly aligned with the needs of a fast-moving space tech startup, while supporting high impact initiatives that touch every corner of the company.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Employee Lifecycle
• Support core People Ops processes — onboarding, offboarding, compliance, record-keeping, and audits.
• Own and manage day to day benefits and leave administration — leave and pay replacement tracking, communication, and reasonable accommodations, open enrollment.
• Responsible for yearly completion and filing of ACA, AAP, Form 5500, and other state and/or federally required compliance audits.
• Play a key role in People Team projects related to org development, compensation, andperformance management.
• Support the development of policies and programs that reflect our culture of innovation,autonomy, and collaboration.
HRIS Ownership & Optimization
• Own major portions of a new HRIS implementation including testing modules, refining build out, and providing feedback to implementation specialists.
• Regularly audit workflows and permissions for optimization, and user experience and lead system integrations with other tools (payroll, ATS, benefits, IT) to streamline operations as wescale.
Data Analytics & People Insights
• Build and maintain dashboards and reports to track key people metrics — headcount, attrition, DEI, org structure, engagement trends, etc.
• Translate people data into compelling stories that support decision-making for leadership, finance,and department heads.
• Partner closely with Finance, Recruiting, and Engineering on workforce planning and dataalignment.
Leadership
• Interact and serve as onsite HR Operations point of contact.
• Represent and participate in meetings, presentations, or conferences.
• Mentor and develop junior People team members — provide developmental feedback and training, and share expertise.
QUALIFICATIONS
• 5-7+ years of experience in People Operations, HRIS management, or HR data analytics — ideally in a tech or startup environment.
• Prior experience in benefits administration and flexible spending accounts, facilitating yearly renewals, and open enrollment.
• Prior experience in multi-state leave tracking and administration, unemployment claims, and accommodations process.
• Proven experience with modern HRIS platforms (Rippling, BambooHR, Workday, etc.), specifically building and optimizing workflows, and enabling appropriate permissions for access control.
• Strong spreadsheet skills (Excel / Sheets), and experience with BI / reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker, Power BI).
• Comfort with data — cleaning it, analyzing it, and telling stories with it.
• High degree of discretion and integrity in handling sensitive data.
• Experience in a startup or high-growth company is a huge plus — especially in aerospace, hardware, or deep tech.
COMPENSATION
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, location, and experience.
