Job summary

Special is hiring a People and Talent Operations Manager to recruit great people, onboard new employees, and bring acquired businesses onto shared systems. You'll work across Special and Figure Health, with most of your time focused on Figure Health as our healthcare team grows.

This hands-on role blends recruiting and people operations, roughly 50/50, prioritizing acquisitions and hiring needs. You will source candidates, coordinate offers, and ensure smooth onboarding on Rippling.

Qualifications

• Approximately five years of experience in people operations, recruiting, or a combined role.
• Direct experience sourcing candidates and conducting initial screens.
• Hands-on experience with Rippling or a comparable HR and payroll platform.
• Strong organization, follow-through, and ability to manage multiple searches and onboarding timelines.

• Build our talent pipeline by sourcing and engaging candidates for nursing, clinical, engineering, and corporate roles across Figure Health and Special.
• Run the top of the recruiting funnel: initial screens, coordinate interviews, keep records, inform hiring managers and candidates.
• Coordinate offers: prepare and send letters, manage signatures, guide candidates through joining.
• Own employee onboarding: set up in Rippling, coordinate tool access, deliver a welcoming onboarding experience.
• Support acquisition integration: migrate employee information and payroll onto Rippling across acquired businesses.
• Keep people operations organized: maintain records, coordinate benefits, serve as a first contact for routine questions.
• Build repeatable processes: create checklists, templates, and workflows for hires and acquisitions.

The role

This is a hands-on role that combines recruiting and people operations. We expect an initial split of roughly 50% recruiting and 50% people operations, with priorities shifting around acquisitions and hiring needs.

You'll source candidates, conduct initial conversations, coordinate offers, and make sure employees have what they need to succeed from day one. You'll also help transition acquired businesses onto Rippling and establish consistent onboarding and people processes across the group.

What you'll do

• Build our talent pipeline. Source and engage candidates for nursing, clinical, engineering, and corporate roles across Figure Health and Special.

• Run the top of the recruiting funnel. Conduct initial screens, coordinate interviews, maintain candidate records, and keep hiring managers and candidates informed.

• Coordinate offers. Prepare and send offer letters using approved templates, manage signatures, and guide candidates through the transition to joining.

• Own employee onboarding. Set up new hires in Rippling, coordinate access to tools with the appropriate teams, and deliver a clear, welcoming onboarding experience.

• Support acquisition integration. Work with acquired businesses, finance, and payroll providers to migrate employee information and payroll onto Rippling.

• Keep people operations organized. Maintain accurate employee records, coordinate benefits enrollment and employee changes, and serve as a first point of contact for routine questions.

• Build repeatable processes. Create practical checklists, templates, and workflows that make each hire and acquisition easier to support.

What we're looking for

• Approximately five years of experience in people operations, recruiting, or a role combining both, ideally at a growing healthcare technology company.

• Direct experience sourcing candidates and conducting initial screens.

• Hands-on experience with Rippling or a comparable HR and payroll platform.

• Strong organization and follow-through—you can manage multiple searches, onboarding timelines, and employee requests without losing details.

• Clear communication, sound judgment, and discretion with sensitive information.

• Comfort working directly with founders, hiring managers, clinicians, and employees across different businesses.

• A willingness to handle day-to-day execution while improving the underlying processes.

Experience with healthcare recruiting, payroll migrations, or acquisition integration is a plus.
