Job summary

Markel is seeking a Sr. People Analytics Data Analyst to join the HR Technology & Analytics team in the United States. You will develop scalable data solutions, transform Workday data, and build dashboards used by HR and business partners.

You will own data pipelines, automate reporting, and validate data quality while collaborating with HR Centers of Excellence to deliver insights that drive decision-making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Mathematics, HR, Business Analytics, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 5+ years of experience in data analytics, BI, HR analytics, reporting, or related discipline
• Hands-on experience designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines or automated workflows using Alteryx or similar ETL tool
• Experience developing and maintaining dashboards and data visualizations in Power BI or a similar BI tool
• Demonstrated ability to analyze data and communicate insights clearly
• Strong data quality mindset with ability to validate outputs and apply consistent business rules across reporting assets
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Own the design, development, and ongoing maintenance of interactive dashboards and visualizations in Power BI and Workday Prism
• Build, optimize, and maintain scalable data pipelines in Workday and/or external source systems
• Identify, recommend, and implement automation opportunities to reduce manual reporting effort
• Build and enhance reports using Workday’s native reporting tools, including discovery boards and worksheets
• Lead data validation, reconciliation, and troubleshooting for reporting assets
• Partner with business stakeholders and HR Centers of Excellence to translate reporting requirements into scalable data solutions
• Document business rules, metrics definitions, and data lineage to support governance across reporting assets
