Job summary

PensionsAge in New London, NH is seeking a highly capable pensions calculation expert to join the Business Solutions Team. You will act as a subject matter expert, mentor, and quality gatekeeper, overseeing the development methodology from specification through testing and final sign-off.

You will produce detailed calculation specifications from scheme rules and legislation, perform thorough testing before UAT, and document findings for stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in pension administration and calculations analysis, incl. DB retirement, transfer, death calculations.
• Strong Defined Contribution knowledge and understanding of current pensions legislation.
• Ability to interpret complex scheme rules and translate them into robust specifications.
• Advanced Excel skills with complex formulas and data manipulation.
• Experience with pension administration systems and high IT literacy.
• Strong project management awareness, delivering to specification, time and budget.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a methodical approach.
• A-C grade English and Maths at A-Level or GCSE level.

Responsibilities

• Act as subject matter expert, mentor, and quality gatekeeper across the Business Solutions Team.
• Develop and maintain the methodology for calculation development from specification through testing and sign-off.
• Produce detailed calculation specifications from scheme rules, documentation, and legislation.
• Conduct thorough testing of outputs prior to UAT and document findings for review.
• Peer review work to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Analyse calculation errors, identify root causes, and recommend improvements.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and CRMs to scope tasks, estimate effort, and manage timelines.
• Manage relationships with actuaries and legal teams on complex queries.
• Support and deputise for the Lead Pensions Calculation Analyst as needed.
