Job summary

Corebridge Financial, Inc. is hiring for a US Pension Underwriter with actuarial/defined benefit expertise. You will underwrite pension risks, model benefit provisions, and support onboarding across internal functions.

This role emphasizes governance, collaboration, and accurate financial reporting. The successful candidate will excel in communicating complex actuarial concepts, manage cross-functional projects, and ensure compliance with policy and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Defined benefit pension plan experience required
• Ability to interpret complex pension plan provisions and draft documents
• At least one of Pricing, Valuation, Actuarial Modeling, Pension Administration or Contract experience
• Pension benefit calculation modeling, testing, or production experience
• Project management experience
• Self-starter with comfort in complexity and ambiguity
• Knowledge of governance best practices and controls
• Proficiency with MS Office; Copilot and VBA a plus
• Strong communication skills in a dynamic team environment
• Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Math, or Statistics; relevant certifications encouraged

Responsibilities

• Explain technical actuarial/pension topics to Head of US PRT
• Be the defined benefit pension plan expert within the company
• Assess pension risks, calculate premiums, and influence terms
• Guide onboarding and cross-functional collaboration
• Design governance, controls, processes and procedures
• Review actuarial calculations and methodologies
• Support Operations and Valuation teams in new business implementation
• Lead projects with sound judgment and creativity
