Job summary

Corebridge Financial, Inc. seeks an actuarial professional to join the US pension underwriting team. You will underwrite, model benefits, and support onboarding of new business across internal functions, with emphasis on defined benefit pension plans.

The role requires strong communication, project management, and governance skills, with opportunities to lead governance initiatives and collaborate across many teams. Jersey City, NJ and other US locations are considered.

Qualifications

• Defined benefit pension plan experience.
• Ability to interpret and implement complex pension plan benefit provisions and drafting.
• Pricing, Valuation, Actuarial Modeling, Pension Administration or Contract experience.
• Pension benefit calculation modeling, testing, or production experience.
• Project management experience.
• Self-starter with comfort handling complexity and ambiguity.
• Governance best practices and controls knowledge.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; Copilot and VBA is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree in actuarial field or related; pursuing SOA/Enrolled Actuaries/ASPA certification.
• SOA/Enrolled Actuaries/ASPA certification pursuit.

Responsibilities

• Explain actuarial/pension topics to leadership in New Jersey.
• Be the defined benefit pension plan expert within the company.
• Assess pension risks, calculate premiums, and draft terms affecting premiums.
• Guide onboarding and lead cross-functional collaboration.
• Design governance, controls, processes and procedures.
• Review actuarial calculations and methodologies in controlled environments.
• Execute actuarial model risk management including model development and testing.
• Support Operations and Valuation teams for accurate financial reporting.
• Lead projects with sound judgment and creativity.
