Job summary

The Illinois Police Officers’ Pension Investment Fund (IPOPIF) is seeking a Senior Accountant/Auditor to support day-to-day accounting and auditing activities under the Controller’s direction. Responsibilities include financial statement preparation, cash management verification, and government filings.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting, and 7–10 years of relevant experience; CPA/CIA preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field from an accredited institution.
• CPA or CIA certification preferred but not required.
• 7–10 years of experience in government, public accounting, or pension fund administration.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams).
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Review custodian-provided information and reconcile with recordkeeping reports.
• Prepare general ledger entries and perform bank reconciliations.
• Assist with monthly and annual financial statements.
• Prepare government reports and filings.
• Maintain internal control documentation and audit support.
