Job summary

Children's National Hospital in Washington, DC seeks a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP-III) to provide advanced respiratory care across ER, Acute Care, PICU, NICU and CICU. The role requires strong clinical skills and a commitment to high-quality patient care.

Under the department manager, the RCP-III will precept, maintain the full scope of respiratory care, and work in multiple critical care units, including pediatric and neonatal environments, ensuring safe and effective patient treatment.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Respiratory Care required (AMA approved).
• Bachelors degree in health-related field preferred.
• 5 years of experience in pediatric and/or neonatal critical care environment required.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist required.
• RCP license from DC DOH required.
• BLS and PALS required.

Responsibilities

• Administer all levels of Respiratory Care across ER, Acute Care, and two ICUs.
• Provide advanced ventilator management including Nitric Oxide, Heliox, HFOV.
• Serve as a clinical resource and preceptor for new hires and students.
• Work independently within ER, Acute Care, PICU, NICU and CICU settings.
• Demonstrate effective communication and clinical judgment under stress.
