Job summary

County of Ventura seeks a compassionate Occupational Therapist to evaluate and treat pediatric clients in the Medical Therapy Program. The role involves planning interventions, coordinating with physicians, families and teachers, and ensuring high quality care.

Qualified candidates have a California OT license or eligibility, a Bachelor’s in OT, and NBCOT certification. Experience with diverse pediatric populations and family-centered care is preferred; bilingual skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in occupational therapy or equivalent proof of education.
• Must obtain NBCOT certification within probationary period.
• Licensed or eligible for California OT licensure at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate pediatric patients birth to 21 to determine therapy needs.
• Develop and implement treatment plans and goals with families.
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary team and school personnel.
• Provide education to caregivers on home exercise programs.
• Maintain documentation per standards and participate in quality initiatives.
• Lead and mentor staff when assigned and coordinate coverage.
