Job summary

Boston Children’s Hospital is seeking an experienced audiologist to diagnose, coordinate cases, and treat a wide range of pediatric hearing cases. You will educate interns and staff, participate in research and administrative tasks, and help develop case management plans for families.

The role requires a doctoral degree in Audiology or Hearing Science, at least four years of pediatric experience, and MA licensure or eligibility for licensure.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Audiology or Hearing Science from an accredited program.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in pediatric audiology services.
• CCC-A from ASHA or Pediatric Audiology certification from the American Board of Audiology; licensed as an Audiologist in MA or eligible to licensure within 45 days.

Responsibilities

• Obtain case histories by interviewing patients and reviewing records to determine indicators for hearing loss and related factors.
• Conduct audiological evaluations including behavioral and physiological tests and interpret results.
• Assist in evaluating children and counseling families on findings, funding, and use of hearing technology.
• Develop case management plans and prepare reports with recommendations for services, devices, and communication strategies.
• Coordinate implementation of case management plans with physicians and related services; assist families with funding and appointments.
• Provide training and supervision to interns, externs, and new staff; contribute to quality improvement and research.
