Job summary

Stored Energy Systems in Longmont, CO seeks a Senior PCBA Supplier Quality Engineer III to own supplier quality across PCBA and electronics. You will lead containment, audits, and corrective actions, partnering with Engineering, Sourcing, and Operations to ensure products meet requirements.

The role emphasizes deep PCBA process knowledge, problem solving, and the ability to influence suppliers and stakeholders without direct authority.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, manufacturing, mechanical, industrial, quality engineering, or related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in PCBA manufacturing or PCBA supplier quality engineering.
• Strong knowledge of surface-mount and through-hole processes and PCBA defects.
• Experience with supplier auditing, corrective action, 8D/A3, and FMEA.
• Working knowledge of IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, and ISO 9001:2015.
• Ability to translate drawings and quality requirements into supplier controls.
• Strong data analysis, reporting, and Excel/Power BI skills.

Responsibilities

• Own the supplier quality strategy for PCBA and electronics suppliers, including selection and onboarding.
• Plan and conduct on-site and remote supplier audits; evaluate quality systems and process controls.
• Serve as the technical quality authority for PCBA assembly, inspection, and defects.
• Establish supplier-readiness plans for new product introduction and sustaining production.
• Lead containment and RCAs, drive 8D/A3, corrective actions, and effectiveness verification.
• Define receiving inspection and expand dock-to-stock controls with evidence.
• Create supplier scorecards and business-review inputs based on key metrics.
• Collaborate with Engineering on supplier changes and validation before implementation.
• Develop scalable supplier-quality procedures and coach teams and suppliers.
