Job summary

Samtec, Inc. is seeking a PCB Fabrication & Supplier Engineer (Eng III) to own how boards are built and to manage the vendor ecosystem, from stackups to DFM questions with fabricators.

You will partner with SI engineers and PCB designers to ensure on-time, correct builds. You will collaborate with signal integrity engineers, PCB designers, and fabricator FAEs; lead supplier qualification, capability matrices, and process validation for HDI/UHDI technologies, while forecasting material needs to

Qualifications

• BS required in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• 7–12 years PCB fabrication, front-end/CAM engineering, PCB supplier engineering, or advanced PCB design and manufacturing.
• Expert in PCB construction and process including HDI, UHDI, and stackup decisions.
• Experience with supplier qualification, DFM and engineering change control.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical interface between SI engineers, PCB designers, and fabrication suppliers.
• Create and maintain vendor-agnostic stackups and impedance data in approved systems.
• Evaluate design packages for manufacturability and propose alternatives that preserve design intent.
• Resolve DFM findings and questions with a recommended response date.
• Review fabricator data and confirm design intent before build authorization.
• Lead qualification of new fabrication suppliers and processes with defined tests.
• Forecast long-lead material and align supplier lead times with program schedules.
