Job summary

Kapta Space in Seattle, WA, is seeking a Senior PCB Designer to own the architecture, layout, and quality assurance of high‑speed, RF and power boards for spaceborne SAR hardware and defense applications.

You will lead multi‑layer designs, collaborate with the Responsible Engineer and mechanical/thermal teams, ensure impedance control and EMI/EMC compliance, and drive DFM/DFT readiness with fabrication partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate’s degree in EE/CE or equivalent.
• Extensive PCB layout experience on space/aerospace hardware.
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams on complex boards.
• Proficient in Altium Designer and constraint-driven design.

Responsibilities

• Lead PCB layout for high-speed digital, RF front-end, and power boards.
• Define board architecture, stack-ups, routing, impedance, EMI/EMC.
• Place and route high-density BGAs, SERDES, DDR, FPGA, RF interconnects.
• Ensure DFM/DFT compliance and liaison with fabrication/assembly vendors.
• Collaborate with RE and mechanical/thermal teams for integration.
• Participate in design reviews and maintain aerospace-grade documentation.
