Job summary

The Judge Group in Andover, MA is seeking an experienced PCB Layout Engineer to design and develop PCB layouts for power converter assemblies using Altium Designer. This role ensures DFM compliance and uses approved footprints from the Central Library while coordinating with multiple teams.

You will verify designs with CAD tools, manage lifecycle in PLM from layout through stencil release, and lead design reviews with Electrical, Mechanical, Firmware, and Operations to meet tape-out deadlines.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of PCB CAD design experience.
• Proficiency with Altium Designer; BluePrint software a plus.
• Familiarity with Valor and/or ODB++ manufacturing data formats preferred.
• Working knowledge of PCB fabrication and assembly technologies (SMT, through-hole, blind vias, buried vias).
• Basic understanding of power electronics and power conversion applications.
• Knowledge of PCB fabrication, manufacturing, and assembly processes.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop PCB layouts for power converter assemblies using Altium Designer.
• Perform PCB design verification using CAD tools and quality checklists.
• Manage PCB lifecycle progression through PLM from layout to stencil release.
• Collaborate with Electrical Design Engineers to update schematics and layouts as needed.
• Coordinate with Mechanical Engineers to integrate physical constraints and keep-out zones.
• Work with Operations and NPI teams to incorporate manufacturability considerations.
• Lead PCB Layout Design Reviews with cross-functional stakeholders before release.
• Prioritize multiple PCB design projects to meet schedules and tape-out deadlines.
• Collaborate with the CAD Library team to maintain library integrity and resolve CAD issues.
• Generate PCB stencil files and document deliverables in PLM.
