Job summary

Trystar is seeking a Staff PCB Design Engineer - Power Electronics to lead complex PCB design for high-power systems. You will collaborate with electrical, mechanical, firmware, manufacturing, and compliance teams to deliver robust, manufacturable boards from concept to production release.

You will design high-voltage, high-current assemblies (up to ~2000 VDC / 600 VAC) with attention to safety, reliability, and IPC/UL standards. This is an on-site role at multiple sites in the U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with 7+ years PCB design experience; equivalent education/experience.
• Experience with Cadence Allegro PCB Editor / OrCAD or similar ECAD tools.
• Ability to take complex PCB designs from schematic to production-ready documentation.
• Experience designing high-voltage, high-current, mixed-signal PCBs (100+ A paths).
• Knowledge of impedance, creepage, clearance, grounding, EMI/EMC, thermal management.

Responsibilities

• Lead PCB placement and routing for power-electronics assemblies.
• Own designs from floorplan through production release and documentation.
• Develop layouts for high-voltage/current systems up to ~2000 VDC / 600 VAC.
• Define stackups, impedance, vias, and copper requirements.
• Collaborate on schematic, packaging, thermal interfaces and ECAD/MCAD integration.
• Work with fabricators/contract manufacturers to resolve DFM/DFA issues.
• Create/maintain footprints, libraries, and lead design reviews.
• Support conformal coating, pollution degree, temp/humidity, and regulatory requirements.
• Design PCB-based test hardware and fixtures.
