Job summary

Software Placement Group is seeking a PCB Design Engineer in Austin, TX to design high-density multilayer PCBs for rugged embedded computing platforms used in defense, aerospace, and industrial sectors. You will collaborate with diverse engineering teams to translate concepts into manufacturable layouts with a focus on SI/PI, reliability, and production readiness.

You will apply experience with advanced PCB technologies (HDI, BGA/QFN/FPGA) and tools like Mentor Xpedition to meet stringent

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience designing high-density multilayer PCBs for high-performance products (aerospace/defense/industrial).
• 2+ years of PCB layout with enterprise tools; Mentor Xpedition strongly preferred.
• Experience with Mentor Xpedition Layout, DxDesigner, libraries, and constraint management.
• Translate schematics into manufacturable PCB layouts with hardware engineers.
• High-speed digital PCB design: DDR4/5, PCIe Gen4/Gen5, Gigabit Ethernet, RRollins?

Responsibilities

• Develop multilayer PCBs for aerospace/defense/industrial applications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineers to create manufacturable, high-performance layouts.
• Optimize for signal and power integrity, manufacturability, and reliability.
• Participate in full product development lifecycle from architecture to production.
• Solve complex routing challenges using advanced PCB technologies.
