Job summary

Software Placement Group is seeking a PCB Design Engineer in Huntsville to develop complex high-density PCBs for rugged embedded platforms used in defense, aerospace, and industrial markets. You will work with hardware, mechanical, and test teams to deliver manufacturable layouts with robust SI/PI performance.

The role emphasizes collaboration across the full product lifecycle, from architecture discussions to fabrication support, with on-site work in Huntsville, AL and minimal travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience designing complex high-density multilayer PCBs for high-performance products.
• 2+ years of PCB layout with Mentor Xpedition preferred.
• Strong knowledge of HDI, via technologies and high-speed interfaces.
• Ability to translate schematics into manufacturable layouts with hardware teams.
• Experience with SI/PI, DFM/DFT principles and PCB fabrication processes.

Responsibilities

• Design complex multilayer PCBs for rugged embedded platforms.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and test teams to create manufacturable layouts.
• Optimize for signal and power integrity, manufacturability, and reliability.
• Support full product lifecycle from architecture to fabrication and production.
• Translate schematics into PCB layouts and generate fabrication docs.
• Create assembly, fabrication, and manufacturing documentation.
