Job summary

Sidus Space is seeking a Senior PCB Design Electrical Engineer to design and develop high‑reliability CCAs and integrated systems for spaceflight and mission‑critical applications.

The role is 100% onsite in Cape Canaveral, FL, offering ownership of schematic capture, layout, and documentation while collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver robust hardware for aerospace programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field) and 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Significant hands-on experience with PCB design including schematic capture, layout, verification, and manufacturing support.
• High proficiency with Altium Designer (or similar PCB design tools).
• Strong foundation in power electronics, high-speed digital design, and familiarity with RF circuits.
• Solid understanding of requirements definition, interface development, verification, and documentation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).

Responsibilities

• Own schematic capture, PCB layout, and documentation for complex, high‑reliability CCAs used in spacecraft and mission‑critical systems.
• Develop subsystem architecture, electrical interfaces, and design solutions for new and existing hardware.
• Lead the design, development, and testing of IRAD/CRAD projects and support transition to manufacturing.
• Generate and review engineering documentation including requirements, specifications, ICDs, analyses, and test plans.
• Support integration, test, and verification of CCAs, electrical assemblies, and related subsystems.
• Collaborate with systems, mechanical, manufacturing, quality, and program teams to deliver complete engineering design packages.
• Develop and maintain power budgets, V&V plans, and electrical test plans.
• Participate in system‑level testing, troubleshoot issues and review test results.
• Present technical findings to peers, leadership, and customers as needed.

Job Summary

The Senior PCB Design Electrical Engineer will design and develop high‑reliability circuit card assemblies (CCAs) and integrated electronic systems for spaceflight and other mission‑critical applications.

The position is 100% onsite, located in Cape Canaveral, Florida.

• Own schematic capture, PCB layout, and documentation for complex, high‑reliability CCAs used in spacecraft and mission‑critical systems.
• Develop subsystem architecture, electrical interfaces, and design solutions for new and existing hardware.
• Lead the design, development, and testing of IRAD/CRAD projects and support transition to manufacturing.

Required Education and Experience

• Strong foundation in power electronics, high‑speed digital design, and familiarity with RF circuits.

Desired Skills and Experience

• Familiarity with spacecraft electrical systems, subsystem interfaces, or space hardware integration.
• Understanding of EMI/EMC, reliability, contamination control, and space environmental effects.
• Experience with acceptance, qualification, and environmental testing for high‑reliability or space‑grade hardware.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience serving as a lead engineer or principal investigator on hardware development projects.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers or providing technical guidance.

Physical Requirements

• Sedentary Work – occasionally exerting up to 10 pounds of force to carry, lift, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves being stationary most of the time, sometimes requiring moving about the work center on concrete surfaces.
• Computer Work – daily use of laptop, computer monitor screen, keyboard, and mouse, sometimes utilizing a headset with microphone & speakers.

Travel Requirement

Ability to travel < 10%

Shift/Schedule

Onsite work Monday through Friday; day shift generally working 8am to 5pm
