Job summary

The Cigna Group seeks a senior in-house attorney to lead the PBM pharmacy network operations legal team. You will guide strategic initiatives, advise on regulatory matters, and negotiate complex healthcare agreements to support the PBM supply chain.

You will collaborate with senior leaders across regulatory, compliance, and business units, ensuring risk-balanced, practical legal solutions while mentoring a high-performing team. Remote or hybrid work options are available.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 10+ years of legal experience with healthcare regulatory and transactional matters.
• 6+ years of direct PBM legal experience supporting pharmacy benefit management operations or networks.
• 3+ years of people leadership experience.
• Experience advising PBM business leaders on operational, strategic, and regulatory matters.
• Experience drafting and negotiating complex healthcare, pharmacy, network, or supply chain agreements.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state healthcare laws and regulations.
• In-house healthcare legal experience in PBM or health plan contexts.
• Remote or Hybrid work setting.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of attorneys supporting the PBM pharmacy network operations.
• Serve as lead legal advisor for network strategy, initiatives, and objectives.
• Provide day-to-day counsel on contracting, reimbursement, credentialing, network strategy, and regulatory compliance.
• Advise on laws and regulations affecting PBMs, networks, and the healthcare supply chain.
• Draft, review, negotiate, and guide complex healthcare and pharmacy agreements.
• Partner with business leaders on strategic initiatives and enterprise projects.
• Collaborate with internal legal teams including regulatory, compliance, privacy, litigation, and transactional teams.
• Build relationships with senior stakeholders and act as a trusted advisor to leadership.
• Mentor and coach attorneys while fostering a high-performing team culture.
