Job summary

Pattern Energy in Houston, Texas, seeks a Senior Payroll and Tax Specialist to process payroll accurately and on time, with primary focus on DG Payrolls, Puerto Rico and Canada. Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll processing is required, and you will manage payroll tax returns, quarter filings, and agency notices across Pattern entities.

You will monitor regulatory changes, ensure compliance, support employee inquiries, and collaborate with Accounting, Tax and Senior Management.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of payroll, HR, benefits, and payroll tax experience across multiple industries, including multi-state U.S. payroll.
• Experience processing Canadian payroll and knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation, taxes, and year-end reporting (T4s, ROEs, provincial requirements).
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Active PayrollOrg member preferred and ongoing payroll certifications encouraged.
• Experience with ADP Workforce Now strongly preferred and payroll tax reconciliation expertise.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll in collaboration with the Payroll team for multiple entities.
• Prepare, review, and reconcile payroll tax returns and notices.
• Respond to employee inquiries and provide timely support.
• Investigate and resolve tax agency notices and regulatory changes.
• Coordinate with Accounting, Tax and Senior Management on payroll matters.
