SUNY Upstate Medical University’s Payroll Department seeks a Payroll Generalist II to prepare and process complex payroll transactions, answer payroll questions, and provide payroll customer service to agency employees following NYS Comptroller and SUNY policies.

Key duties include entering exemptions and transfers, calculating federal/state taxes and employer contributions, generating payroll reports, ensuring confidentiality, and adhering to regulations.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree with two years relevant experience or equivalent.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong math and calculation skills, attention to detail, multitasking ability.
• Healthcare payroll experience is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Process payroll records and update changes for exemptions, job title, and transfers.
• Provide payroll information to supervisors and approved persons.
• Calculate federal/state taxes and employer contributions.
• Support team with related results and process improvements.
• Deliver internal and external payroll customer service.
• Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies.
• Prepare payroll reports of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, and nontaxable wages.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with NYS regulations and SUNY policies.
