Job summary

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist to join the Payroll Department. The role manages bi-weekly payroll, reviews timecards, and handles reimbursements and union related reporting for PAGNY’s large physician network.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's degree, 3–4 years payroll experience, strong Paycom knowledge, and advanced Excel skills. Occasional travel to Affiliates in NYC may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred.
  • 3–4 years of payroll operations experience (timecard review, pay code audit, PTO accruals, retroactive pay calculations).
  • Advanced knowledge of Paycom and its modules required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables).
  • Knowledge of payroll laws, confidentiality, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Organize, audit, and transmit bi-weekly payroll.
  • Review timecards and respond to employees’ inquiries.
  • Process employee reimbursements as needed.
  • Process union dues/union pension reports.
  • Ensure payroll laws, compliance, confidentiality, and union requirements are followed.
  • Maintain accurate and timely payroll data reporting schedules.
  • Assist with payroll system setups and staff training on payroll processes.
  • Support Operations and HR at Affiliates.
  • Develop reports as requested by Affiliates.
  • Review cross-department data sharing and reconcile data.
  • Possible travel once every other week to Affiliates in the Bronx, Manhattan, and Brooklyn.

Opportunity Details
  • Organize, audit, and transmit bi-weekly payroll.

  • Assist in training and compliance of the staff in the Payroll Department.
  • Support and interact with Operations and HR at all Affiliates.
  • Develop reports requested by the Affiliates.
  • Review cross-departmental impacts and reconcile data sharing.
  • Possible travel once every other week to Affiliates in the Bronx, Manhattan, and Brooklyn.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3-4 years of experience in various payroll operations (timecard review, pay code audit, PTO accrual settings, retroactive pay calculations for salary increases, etc.).
  • Advanced knowledge of Paycom is highly preferred and its associated modules.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel spreadsheets (VLOOKUPandPivot Tables).
  • Knowledge of Payroll laws, confidentiality, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills.
