Job description

Frieze is the world's leading platform for modern and contemporary art, dedicated to artists, galleries, collectors, and art lovers alike. It comprises three magazines - frieze, Frieze Masters Magazine, and Frieze Week - and five international art fairs: Frieze London, Frieze Masters, Frieze New York, Frieze Los Angeles, and Frieze Seoul. In October 2021, Frieze launched No.9 Cork Street, a permanent space for visiting international galleries in Mayfair, London. Frieze is part of the IMG network.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
  1. Secure and grow revenue for Frieze's US fairs in Los Angeles, New York, and Chicago.
  2. Generate significant global sponsorship deals for Frieze's portfolio from US-based brands.
  3. Lead new business development through sponsorship sales in the US by identifying, developing, and securing new sponsor and partner relationships.
  4. Represent Frieze, The Armory Show, and EXPO Chicago in New York and across the US at sponsor meetings and events.
  5. Manage specific sponsor accounts, ensuring smooth delivery of contractual benefits.
  6. Negotiate sponsorship contracts.
  7. Develop sponsorship pitch proposals to secure new clients.
  8. Build strong relationships with new partners.
  9. Represent Frieze in meetings with key sponsors and advertisers, both face-to-face and online.
  10. Coordinate with internal teams to plan and execute sponsored spaces, advertising campaigns, and partner benefits at fairs.
Please Note (e.g., shift(s), unsocial hours, travel)
  • International travel may be required to attend EXPO Chicago and Frieze fairs.
  • Flexibility and longer hours are often necessary.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Contacts at decision-making levels, ideally in sectors like technology, beverages, watches, jewelry, and beauty.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple activities, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
  • Work well under pressure with high attention to detail.
  • Proactive problem-solver.
  • Knowledge of the art world.
  • Marketing and social media experience.
  • Experience working with luxury brands and major sponsors.
