Job summary

WMATA is seeking a Payroll Supervisor to lead complex payroll operations across multiple payrolls, ensuring compliance with policies and collective bargaining agreements. Qualifications

• Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, business administration or related field.
• Four years of progressively responsible payroll processing and supervision experience.
• Bachelor's degree preferred in Accounting/Finance/HR/Business Administration.
• Experience with unionized payroll environments and interpreting CBAs is preferred.
• Experience supervising payroll staff and ensuring accuracy of pay documents and calculations.
• Familiarity with ERP systems (PeopleSoft, Oracle, SAP) and large-scale payroll operations.

Responsibilities

• Act as the first point of escalation for payroll inquiries and discrepancies.
• Supervise payroll staff, review work, provide training, and ensure pay accuracy and policy compliance.
• Process and analyze weekly and biweekly payroll transactions, balances, and reports.
• Develop metrics to assess payroll processes and identify efficiency improvements.
• Coordinate documentation and training materials for payroll procedures.
