Job summary

Correctional Services - Agency 46 in Lincoln, NE is seeking a Payroll Supervisor at Central Office. This leadership role drives the integrity of personnel services through oversight of payroll cycles, benefits administration, and regulatory compliance to support a mission: Keep people safe.

The successful candidate will model integrity and growth, supervise payroll staff, and partner with the payroll manager on complex tasks while maintaining high accuracy and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience in payroll and benefits preferred.
• Proficiency with payroll systems and MS Office required.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance regarding HR/payroll issues to NDCS employees and supervisors.
• Supervise HR payroll assistants including OJT for Central Office.
• Assist payroll manager in reviewing journal entries, back pays, and final payrolls for accuracy.
• Maintain personnel files and computer-based HR records/databases.
• Develop spreadsheets and databases with complex formulas and tracking.
• Assist with orientation of new employees.
• Facilitate benefit programs, including open enrollment and qualifying events.
• Process agency overtime reports and other duties as needed.
• Assist payroll manager in onboarding new hires for the agency.
