Job summary

Mozilla is seeking a Senior Payroll Analyst to lead end-to-end payroll for U.S. and Canadian employees (~800 staff) on a semi-monthly cycle. You will ensure accurate payroll, tax compliance, and audit readiness while partnering with People Operations, Benefits, and external vendors.

This role emphasizes process improvement, scale, and cross-functional collaboration. You will mentor the Payroll Administrator and contribute to year-end activities, with a focus on data integrity and stakeholder

Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Business Administration, Accounting Finance or related field.
  • AND 7+ years of payroll processing experience, preferably across U.S. and Canadian payrolls.
  • OR equivalent combination of education.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state/provincial payroll tax regulations.
  • Experience with payroll systems. ADP Workforce Now experience is strongly preferred.
  • Strong customer service focus with an ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and partner with key stakeholders.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity.
  • Experience working in cross-functional environments.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or equivalent designation is a plus.

About this team and role:

Responsible for leading the North America payroll operations, processing semi-monthly payroll for around 800 U.S. and Canadian employees while ensuring compliance with federal, state/provincial, and local regulations. This role will ensure accurate and timely payroll cycles, compliance with tax laws and company policies, and provide reporting and analysis to support business needs. The Senior Payroll Analyst will also play a key role in process improvements and cross-functional initiatives.

What you’ll do:

  • US Tier 1 Locations: $113,000 — $151,000 USD
  • US Tier 2 Locations: $103,000 — $137,000 USD
  • US Tier 3 Locations: $95,000 — $127,000 USD
