Job summary

PRIDE Industries seeks a Payroll Business Analyst to support payroll tax, accounting, reporting and project management under limited supervision. You will analyze, develop, implement and administer payroll policies and systems, ensuring compliance with federal, state and local rules across multiple states.

The role requires extensive knowledge of wage and hour laws, testing improvements with IT, and creating training plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field; or equivalent education/work experience.
• Certified Payroll Professional preferred.
• Five+ years of payroll processing experience.
• Three+ years of business operations and operations support experience.
• Project management experience.
• Knowledge of Section 125 benefit plans, 401K, pension and related benefits.
• Knowledge of multi-state and federal wage-and-hour laws and regulations.
• Experience with an automated payroll system and time collection system.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, databases and presentation software.

Responsibilities

• Research and analyze complex payroll, payroll tax and accounting issues.
• Recommend process improvements and work with IT to implement changes.
• Audit and validate payroll tax returns and resolve discrepancies.
• Design external and internal payroll reports with IT support.
• Coordinate internal/external audits and provide data as required.
• Respond to inquiries about payroll data and procedures; resolve issues.
• Ensure consistent payroll practices across the company.
