Job summary

LyondellBasell Industries in Houston, TX is seeking a Senior Payroll Analyst to administer salaried and hourly payrolls using SAP. The role requires handling bonuses, stock option exercises, and other payments, with knowledge of federal and state wage and hour laws.

This hybrid position is based in Houston, TX with 3 days in office and 2 days remote. The candidate will audit and balance payrolls, ensure tax compliance, and support expatriate payroll activities with Global Mobility teams.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in Business or Information Systems or related field.
• 5+ years of SAP experience for payroll processing.
• Experience in expatriate payroll with Global Mobility teams.
• Experienced with large-volume payrolls and multi-state environments.
• Knowledge of federal and state payroll laws and taxes.
• CPP preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Process and administer non-exempt hourly payrolls in a multi-state environment.
• Collaborate with third-party vendors to interpret payroll data.
• Partner with internal teams, external units and vendors to maintain system processes.
• Maintain confidentiality of employee data.
• Process large payroll files and prepare uploads to SAP.
• Respond to employee pay-related questions promptly.
• Assist HR representatives with payroll policy applications.

The Senior Payroll Analyst role is a senior payroll role within the Human Resources Department. This position is responsible for administering salaried, exempt, and non-exempt payrolls using SAP. Responsibilities include Processing additional payments such as bonuses, stock option exercises, and other special payments using SAP Payroll. Knowledge of SAP payroll and the ability to multitask are key to success in this role. Further responsibilities include auditing and balancing each payroll. The Senior Payroll Analyst must be knowledgeable of federal and state regulations, including wage and hour, tax, garnishment, and reporting laws.

This is a hybrid position based in Houston, TX. 3 days in office and 2 days working remotely.

A Day in the Life

• Processes and administers non-exempt hourly payrolls in a multi-state environment.
• Experience working with third-party vendors to interpret payroll data.
• Partners with internal teams, external business units, and vendors to improve and sustain related system processes and procedures.
• Responsible for maintaining a high degree of confidentiality relative to employee personal data.
• Responsible for processing large payroll files and preparing files for upload and/or input into SAP.
• Respond immediately to any questions or concerns from employees regarding pay-related issues.
• Assists Human Resource representatives and employees as appropriate in the procedural understanding and application of payroll and related Human Resource policies.

You Bring This Value

• BA/BS degree or equivalent experience in Business or Information Systems or related field.
• Typically, 5 + years of relevant experience using SAP to maintain and process payroll.
• Experience in expatriate payroll processing in partnership with Global Mobility Teams.
• Experience working with large volume payrolls.
• Experience working with executive compensation
• Experience working in a multi-state environment.
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
• Strong knowledge of multistate payroll laws and federal regulations, including payroll tax compliance.
• Executes payroll garnishment setup and ongoing processing with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and timeliness.
• Excellent interpersonal conduct and behavior.
• Strong oral & written communication skills.
• Proficient in MS Office products.
• Able to comprehend moderately complex assignments quickly and use initiative to accomplish goals.
• Ability to learn quickly and work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
• CPP preferred, but not required.
• Experience with Success Factors as an HR system is a plus
• Canada Payroll Processing experience
