Job summary

The State of Maryland is seeking two Payroll Validation and ASF reconciliation specialists to reconcile payroll data from 160+ employers, resolve discrepancies, and prepare corrective transactions for the SRA validation program. This telework‑eligible role requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting and strong GAAP knowledge.

Responsibilities include preparing adjustments, communicating issues to employers, and supporting timely payroll processing with attention to accuracy and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; auditing coursework preferred.
• Three years of experience examining, analyzing, and interpreting accounting records per GAAP.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile payroll validation reports from multiple employers to ensure contribution amounts and hours match.
• Prepare and submit adjustments to correct payroll data within the weekly cycle.
• Complete Annuity Savings Fund (ASF) reconciliations daily and monthly to the General Ledger.
• Address employer questions and assist with timely, accurate data processing; overtime may be required.
