Job summary

Discovery Senior Living is seeking a Senior Accountant, Payroll to manage payroll accounting for its portfolio of 450 senior living communities and 25,000+ team members across 40+ states. You will ensure accurate postings to the general ledger, reconcile payroll liabilities, and maintain strong controls between payroll processing and the accounting close.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field required.
• Minimum of 3+ years of progressive accounting experience; experience in payroll accounting or labor cost accounting preferred.
• Experience in senior living, healthcare, or hospitality operations with a large hourly workforce preferred.
• Proficiency in Yardi 8 or a comparable property/operations accounting platform; Paychex experience preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills for reconciliation workpapers,Pivot tables, and multi-entity data management.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post bi-weekly and off-cycle payroll journal entries into Yardi 8 across all entities.
• Reconcile payroll clearing accounts, accrued wages, payroll taxes, benefits payable, and balance sheet accounts.
• Lead payroll components of the monthly accounting close and prepare labor cost analyses and headcount reconciliations.
• Maintain documentation of payroll policies, procedures, and internal controls; support audits.
