Job summary

Idaho State University is seeking a Senior Accountant, Payroll to support payroll operations and assist the Payroll Manager with biweekly processing. This on-campus role works closely with HR and Finance teams to ensure accurate and compliant payroll records.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance (or equivalent experience), multiple years in accounting/payroll, and strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field or six years of equivalent professional experience.
• At least four years experience in accounting/finance, with at least one year in payroll functions.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of payroll laws and compliance, and ability to handle audits and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Supports biweekly payroll processing under supervision of Payroll Manager.
• Prepares and maintains payroll records and reports; assists in audits.
• Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and best practices.
• Cross-trains to run payroll and handle payroll JV's and state tax reconciliations as needed.
• Handles projects and process improvements related to Payroll and Benefits programs.
