Job summary

Alpaca is seeking a senior software engineer to help build and scale the systems and services that power our global payments and treasury platform. You will contribute to our end‑to‑end financial infrastructure, enabling millions of users to trade billions of dollars of assets daily.

You will work on cloud‑based, event‑driven architectures with a focus on reliability, scalability, and clean code. Candidates should have strong Go skills, API experience, and a track record of delivering robust

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience building scalable systems.
• Proven experience with microservices architecture.
• Strong coding skills in Go and clean, well-tested code.
• Experience with domain-driven and event-driven design.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and cloud platforms (prefer Google Cloud).
• Experience with relational databases, especially PostgreSQL.
• Experience with messaging queues and distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Build and scale core systems and services powering Alpaca’s platform.
• Architect and implement scalable, reliable payment and treasury features.
• Collaborate with engineers, product, and SRE to deliver robust APIs.
