You will influence backend architecture, own services related to market data, streaming and historical endpoints, and focus on low latency with Go and cloud platforms like GCP. Join a diverse team delivering developer-friendly APIs for billions in assets.

Qualifications

• At least 4 years of experience working on systems at scale.
• Experience with compiled imperative languages (Go, C, C++, Rust).
• SQL or relational database skills.
• Familiarity with TCP/IP and UDP networking.
• Proficient with Linux/BSD and shell scripting.
• Experience with Kubernetes (GKE) and cloud platforms (GCP).
• Passion for financial markets and building scalable backend systems.
• Proven track record of architecting and leading medium-scale projects.

Responsibilities

• Influence the overall architecture of Alpaca’s market data systems.
• Design highly scalable, mission-critical backend services.
• Obsess over latency and optimize performance.
• Implement services and lead architecture for scalability and resilience.
• Maintain code quality and test coverage.
• Participate in code reviews and incident response.
• Occasionally on-call for timely engineering projects.
