Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Payments Product Manager to join our dynamic team. As a Payments Product Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and management of our payments products and services. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, marketing, sales and customer support, to ensure the successful delivery of innovative and customer-centric payment solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payments technology, a deep understanding of the industry landscape, and a passion for driving product excellence.

Position Responsibilities & Essential Functions
  1. Conduct routine tasks with little direction & assignments as directed. Operates with moderate supervision, little instruction on routine work; detailed instructions on new projects or assignments. Latitude for independent judgment for defined tasks. Uses existing procedures to complete diverse assignments.

  2. Develop and execute the payments product strategy, including defining the product roadmap, feature prioritization, and commercializing.

  3. Product knowledge is the foundation of product management & product led. Develops additional competence by completing structured work assignments.

  4. Expands knowledge about industry, customers, and organization to capture customer requirements. Develops and champions innovative ideas and gives input to business development/partnership teams.

  5. Leads product requirements, works daily with agile teams & defines user stories and Features (Epics). Demonstrates aptitude to be seen as a product leader through strategic & tactical contributions & the development of relationships with business and team leaders.

  6. Understand full current picture of product including strategy, current defects, and usage. Assist in shaping the individual product requirements in support of an existing product strategy.

  7. Accountable for assisting in driving the full product lifecycle from ideation to end-to-end of life. Responsible for relevant, specific product feature requirements. Limited interaction with net new products.

  8. Responsible for modifying/updating key product management artifacts, including incorporating any new research on market/competitive, personas, and business metrics as well as OKRs in the development of the product roadmap.

  9. Act as a subject matter expert on payments technology, industry regulations, and emerging trends, and provide guidance to internal stakeholders and customers.

  10. Collaborate with customer support teams to address customer inquiries, resolve issues, and gather feedback to inform product enhancements.

  11. Stay up-to-date with industry developments, competitive offerings, and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation.

  12. Ensures that user personas & product requirements are defined and reflected in user stories. Translate defined product vision & Features (Epics) into user stories (based on feedback from dealers/customers & analysis of user & buyer personas) to deliver differentiated customer outcomes.

  13. Manage the backlog for sprint teams, partnering with R&D/scrum master in prioritization of user backlog, supporting full lifecycle from definition, beta, showcase, & retrospective.

  14. Partner with PMM to develop a uniquely differentiated value proposition for product that resonates with internal and external stakeholders and results in market share and/or margin growth.

  15. Assist Launch Management with a smooth, collaborative go-to-market plan; work with other teams (e.g., sales, customer support, pricing, business development) on effective product growth and adoption, tracking customer feedback and objection handling.

  16. Measure & report outcome metrics (OKRs) that align to product strategy and business goals.

  17. Invest in gaining functional expertise & SME through training, partnering with more experienced CDK product managers.

  18. Develop & prioritize user stories based on user/market requirements, strategy & business plan.

  19. Invest in developing business acumen in making decisions on products in conjunction with product management leaders.

Qualifications & Job Requirements
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.

  2. 2+ years of Payments Industry or related field as Product Owner or Product Management and/or equivalent experience in Enterprise SaaS, full lifecycle management.

  3. Strong understanding of payments technology, including payment gateways, processors, card networks, and alternative payment methods.

  4. Growth minded, self-motivated and solution-focused.

  5. Empathetic & user-led/data-driven approach to problem solving & decision making that addresses customer pain points and drives business value.

  6. Experience in Agile software/DevOps methodologies & working with globally distributed teams.

  7. Experience in creating user stories, working with R&D & other product managers to drive end-to-end execution of product releases.

  8. Strong written & verbal communication skills. Experience is facilitating customer communications.

  9. Strong technical aptitude, can work with R&D to translate business requirements into actionable user stories.

  10. Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements in the payments industry is a plus.

  11. Track record of product execution in dynamic environment.

Travel up to 25% of time.

Base Compensation: $119,000 - $150,000

CDK Global is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. Compensation packages are based on several factors, including but not limited to skills, experience, certifications, and work location. The total compensation package for this position may also include annual performance bonus, benefits and/or other applicable incentive compensation plans.
